When mowing a lawn, there are always places you can't quite reach with your lawn mower. The edges of patios, driveways, flowerbeds, decks, and walkways are hard to keep neatly trimmed using only a lawn mower. To maintain the edges around these areas, some specific tools are required. Maintaining an edge can be done with hand tools, such as a shovel or wheel edger, but for a  quicker, more professional look you will want to use lawn edging machines. A gas or electric edger will significantly reduce the amount of time it takes to edge your lawn and is a good choice when you have a limited amount of time to devote to lawn care tasks or if your lawn is not very small. There are a variety of edgers available for both home and professional use. The most powerful of these are gas edgers. They feature a long shaft with two handles and an engine one end, and a cutting blade and guide wheel at the other.

The clog-resistant aluminum guard also makes it more durable than competing models with plastic guards.
